Drowned in New Zealand Waters
From the Marino Department's report waahjftrn that of tha lives lost in or near the coast of the colony during the year ending: 31st
■ arch last, 4 were lost in the Hannah Barratt, 5 in the Wave of Life, and 3 in tbe Wild Wavi> (these vessels being lost with all hands), 1 from "tbe Mary Ognvie, 2 from the KWanui, 2 from the Huia (at different times), 6 trjm the Sarah W. Hunt. 3 from the fleiades, 2 trom the Rangatira, 1 each from the Wanganui, .soverign of the Seas and Isabella, and 4 by the unfortunate accident to the pilot boat kt'^elson ; making a total of 35 Ot those lost beyond the coasts of the colony, 30 j; were lost in the Loch Dee, \0 iv the Mary King, and 7 in the Adieu (these vessels having been lout with all hands), 3 each from tbe Agnes Bell, and Makea Anki, 3 from the Jessie Headman (tbe evidence and the correspondence as to further inquiry into this casualty being made ■ave,been seat to the Board of Trade) 2 from the Wt-stland, and 1 each from froir the Cooleen, Matiura, Westland, Jiarah W. Hunt, Seatoiler, Buttermere; making a total of 86.
