Mr F. E. Jackson's Bankruptcy

The Wanganui Herald, in commenting on the above case, makes the following remarks: — Some time ago Mr Jackson's liabilities were far heavier than at present, and have .been gradually reduced to their present limit by the debtor's hard exertions and strict personal and business economy. It is therefore a matter of general surprise and regret that the Bank of Australasia could .not see its way to tide him over his. difficulties and retain to itself the largest business account in Wanganui, the profits from which alone would in a very few years Have put the Bank out of any danger of loss, and earned for it the reputation of sticking to its clients in times of difficulty like the present, instead of calling up their account at a juncture when it must have been only too evident the debtor could not possibly comply with the demand.
