At a meeting of the executive council of the New Zealand Rifle Association it was decided to hold the next prize meeting at Wellington. \ Auckland, jThis Day. The divorce case, Moulden r. Moulden, on a charge of alleged adultery, has been fixed for trial at the next civil sitting. Mrs Moulden, the defendant, is the daughter of and old resident,. Mr G. M. Macattie.
A thunder squall passei over Whangarei Heads on Wednesday. A surveyor and two men at the trig station on the Bream Head were struck by lightning, which went through their coat sleeves and down the leg of one of the men, who was badly burnt. All lay insensible for some time, but have recovered.
The Hinemoa leaves at 10 o'clock for Kawhia, via Taranaki, taking 27 .members.
Nine eases are set down for bearing at the next criminal session, including one of murder. Dunedin, This Day. The Blue Eibbon Army executive hare sent the following telegram to the city members: — The Blue Bibbon Societies Union urged strenuous opposition to the compensation and optional endorsement clauses in Mr Steward's bill. Compensation means a large and indefinite liability in restraint of popular control.
