THE AWAHURI HOTEL AND TRAVELLERS

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB Sin, On Thursday night last, tho 18th instant, I was travelling irom Sandon to Feilding. Arriving at the above hotel at about, a quarter to six, I engaged a bed and asked for tea, but was informed that it was over " hours ago." Shortly afterwards Constable Gillespie arrived, and was immediately invited to have tea. Was this " a trick upon travellers," or was it a bribe to the policeman ? In justice to the travelling public I ask you to insort this letter in your columns. — I am, &c, Traveller. Feilding, 24th September, 1884.
