The miners at Waiorongomai resented the remarks passed ■upon their class by the. honourable member fbr Franklin, North, who if reported to have imputed to them in the House, the charge .of wasting their; time in riotous living.. On . Thursday evening they vented their indignation by solemnly trying Mr Buokland's effigy for Blander, and sentencing him to be hanged, and afterwards blown up with dynamite, wiiich decree was duly carried into effect.
