One ofthe Auckland city merchants states that their firm have received a letter from their correspondent in Foochow, in which it was stated that in that city there were about 100,000 malcontents, who were disturbing the peace thereof, and that the Chinese authorities, -with a view to quieten theuo, were cutting off their heads at the rate of a hundred a dav.
