The smalUpex is increasing in Sydney and the suburbs. Fresh cases hare occurred in Kent-street in the city, and at Glefce. The patients hare been placed in quarantine. MsLßoumirs, August 31. The grandstand at the Melbourne Cricket CluAr ground jwas totally destroyed by fire ihitrmornnig. The damage is estimated at £6,000. A serious fire occurred at Flemington this ereningr resulting inxthe total destruction df the racing stables. Four thoroughbred horses were destroyed by the fire. September 1. The statement that Jessie was amongst the horses' burned to- death at the Flemington stables was incorrect. None of the animals destroyed were prominent ones. v , ■■--'
