. — ~ — The Manchester Kiflea held t£eir annual general meeting onSaturday^ight last in the sale rooms of Messrs Haloomhe and Sherwill, Mr SherwillJhiiTing reij corps, the Public Hall being eqgage<j| ; for the Diorama entertainment. The muster was very small considering- the import. ance of the- business' to be> done, only twenty members, all told, being present. The report of the council was read and adopted- The . balance sheet was, r,ead and referred back to be audited. ' Vol. Plea&ants was elected Lieut, vice Mr Booth; resigned.i/ The Jollowjag^ were elected as members of the council for the ensuing year : — Haybijttle, Barton, Goodbehere, Bilderbeck, Gosling, and Evans. It was resolved that a ball be held to celebrate the anniversary of the corps and Messrs Bilderbeok, Goodbeliere, Gosling, Roe,, and Evans were appointed to act as & ball committee. - : Members were given to understand that - in the event of any deficency, created by '0 the expenses of the Jball, such deficenoy '. would have to be made up by th« >m§m.
