The protest against Hastings for crossing was disallowed. Received August 26, 1.30 a.m. Albany, August 25. The P. and O. steamship Rome, with the inward Brindisi mniln, dated London, July 25, arrived at King George's Sound this morning. ■ Sydney, This Day. The small-pox patients at the quarantine station are reported lo he progressing favorably. A case of small-pox is reported to have occurred in East Maitland . Every precaution has been taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Latest betting on the Metropolitan Stakes — Wallangra 5 to 1, Hastings 6 to 1, Despot 8 to 1.
