Christy Minstrels
On Wednesday evening the Christy Minstrel Troupe of Taonui gave an excellent entertainment in the Bunny"thorpe School, and, as they deserved, got a capita! audience. Messrs Coles, Bowman, Thompson, and Goldfinch took the lending parts, the first-named providing a capital and gentlemanly Mr Johnson, and Mr Bowman a capital instrumentalist. Mr Curtis also assisted with his flute. The corner men, Tarabo and Bonea, were splendidly.represented by Messrs Thompson and Goldfinch. Messrs Nash nnd Albert Adsett also contributed their pleasant share to the entertainment. After the Christy Minstrel business a very amusing farce was acted in which Mr Coles, of old renown, took a leading and most amusing part, assisted by Messrs Nash, : Goldfinch and others. During the interval bt<tween "Nigger "Work ". and the farce, Mr Curtis accompanied, on the flute, Mr Thompson in a step dance. In conclusion we must not omit to mention that a very pretty drop scene was erected, and that everything passed off very pleasantly. The Minstrels must be congratulated on their success, ■which is no more than they deserved considering that they have so resolutely practised during the last eight or ten veeks. •
