Murdoch and McDonnell ! continued to maintain an excellent, stand against the English bowling, and scored rapidly, notwithstanding frequent changes of the howlers. His innings afforded fin excellent display of batting, and he was loudly applauded on his retirement. Scott was the next man in, and proved sn able partner to Murdoch, who was batting in grand style. Scott speedily collared the bowling, and aided Murdoch in augmenting the score, which soon ran up to 300..
