The Australian Cricketers

(BEUTBB's TBIKGBAUs), London, August 9. The cricket match at Clifton, Australians r. Gloucestershire, was concluded to-day, and resulted in a draw. In their first innings the Australians scored 394 runs as against 301 made by the Home team in their first innings. Later. In the cricket match at Clifton, Scott, in the first innings of the Australians was the highest scorer with 79 (bowled) In the second innings lor Gloucestershire, the score stood at 230, with two wickets down, when play ceased. Brain scored 108 (l.b.w), and Pullen 68 (not out). The attendance was good, but the weather was inclement, and play was frequently stopped by showers. Seceired August 12, 11 a.m. London, August 11. The third contest between the Australian cricketers and eleren of All England commenced to-day in Kennington Oral. The weather is fine and a great interest is being taken in the match. The attendance of spectators is enormous. The ground is in good order and an excellent wicket has been pitched. The All England team is composed of the following : W. G. Grace, Lord Harris, Hon. A. Lyt elton, Messrs W. W. Head, A. J. Steel, Barlow, Barnes, Peate, Scotton, Shrewsbury and Ulyett. The Australians won the toss and. went first to the wickets, McDonnell and Bannerman being sent in B 8 usual to open play. The Utter soon succumbed, having only contributed four when be was canghr. Murdoch then became McDonnell's partner and both I batsmen noon became firmly set. Mcl>onnell hit freely all round, and Murdoch being also in good form' runs came quickly. A century was reached without separation being effected, and the latest telegrams from the Oval state that McDonnell is not oul with 86 to his credit, and Murdoch not out with 36.
