FROM OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT. Bulls, August 6. The annual general meeting of the Bulls Horticultural Society took place at the Town Board's offices on Monday evening. The attendance was small. Mr J. Hogg was voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous general and special meetings having been read and confirmed as also a summary of receipts and expenditure for last season's shows, which show about two pounds credit balance, the election of officers took place. James Bull, J. P., was elected President, and T. W. McKenzie and G. J. Scott VicePresidents. Messrs Begg, Richards, Abrahams. J. Paulin, Wealleans, C. W. Maclean, Starek, Sopp, ManseU, Hunt, * Wool ford, Remington, Nicholas, Retemeyer, T. Paulin, Hogg, Dodwell, J. G. Wilson, R. Wilson, Burcham, R. Smith, D. Kitney, J. Gomez, J. Burn, and A. Knight were elected committeemen. It was resolved to hold two shows, viz., one on the third Tuesday in November, and the other on the third Tuesday in February. The usual sub-committees were elected, and Mr G. Moore was reelected secretary and treasurer. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the general meeting. After considerable discussion it was decided to inaugurate a grain and poultry show, to be held at Bulls. All present gave in their names as subscribers Mr Moore consented to act as secretary, pro tern, and was authorised to call a public meeting at 4 p.m. on Messrs Stevens and Gorton's next sale day. At a meeting of the vestry of St. Andrew's Church, held on Monday last, tenders for lining and completing tho Church wore opened, and a sub- committee was appointed to deal with the same. Mr C. E. Nicholas was, at the request of the choir, unanimously re-elected choir master for the ensuing year. Whooping cough and colds are very prevalent throughout the district, and two cases of typhoid are reported as existing. -._, Mr T. Flowers, I am pleased to s«y, is now on a fair way of recovering. Lambing is now in full swing, and so far the weather has been favorable.
