The House has been sitting continuously since last evening. Ihe proceedings at times hare been somewhat disorderly and Mr Taylor was suspended for disobeying the chair. Melbourne, August 6. A prisoner oonfined in the Pentridge stockade made an unsuccessful attempt at escape to-day, and lost his life. He was observed by the warders, who fired upon him and killed him. Sydney. August 6. The Legislative Assembly bhs been sitting the whole night discussing the Land Bill on tbe motion for the third reading. The debate still (ten a.m.) continues.
