An Election "Ode"

♦ " Accidents will happen in the best regulated families," and from this universal rule even a model printing office enjoys no immunity. An accident occurred at this office on Saturday evening last (fortunately after the issue was worked off) by which a " forme" was converted into what is technically called " pye." One of our " devils," who had not previously shown himself possessed of poetic genius, availed himself of the opportunity to compose what he styles an "ode" in honor of Mr D. H. Macarlhur's election. We willingly publish the "ode," not on account of its poetical merits, but for the sake of its startling "originality." Its orthogTaphy is also unique, but your true poetical genius is no tlning if not eccentric. The " ode' reads .— O tempora ! O Moses ! n- obT. rSaO neho s.eayeghap nO . lo no mtosetrrt iuosstbatrtsßkLUnse pi hii dhl, in H eeso e.hsl ir KFJJinGpoitfA ewby sds N eya Iyr a. aFagceesoh si ipKa fuliamluen'iameoano resnseoete dPesheraho cc Leu Ist hi e6tfj tetw g spit — leoighde yoaeP anh Orliticn'psPadi ai sl.eiT nßOaoyhtetet hdusm kkoii lhn -rnaaA sa.at ay .c e,lttceS sefaa Oo deolAasb — sp idlhtdtAlßsl do r f n ci 1 j rlaooi .yih 1 d woti hueb7sgba ialshug Tie eywß la ffd6mOi oAu — 5 fnrs v vac | c sto t.atils yale yn ah;wifS Itehde Uequiescat in pace ! alias Alpha Omega ! j
