We have to report holding a successful j sale on Wednesday, 30th July. The I attendance- was good and the bidding brisk, and many of the lines offered were keenly competed for. We are glad to ' note a decided rise in the price of fat stock, both cattle and sheep, and the ' market generally is improving, young cattle and 2\ to 3-year-old steers being in particular request. Cattle. Fat cows, L4 10s ; 3-year-old steers, L4 10s ; dry cows, L2 10s to L3 2s 6d ; yearling and weaners, 22s to 28s ; milkers to calve soon L4 los. Sheep. — Fat weathers, 12s lid to 14s 6d ; fat ewes, lis 6d to 14s 3d ; ewes in lamb, 10s to 10s 8d ; lambs, 7s 3d ; old ewes, 5s to ?s. Pigs. — Good porkers, 17s to 18s ; store pigs, 10s. Horses. —Little or no business.
