Sweet- Minded Women
' ' ' — : "•« So gr- at is the influence of a sweetminded woman on those arouud ber that it is almost boundless. It is to her that friends come in seasons of sick ness and softow for help and comfort. Une soothing tiiuch of her kindly bands works wonders in the feverish child; a lew" words let fall from her lips in tbe ear of a sorrowing sister do much to raise the .load •of grief tbat is bowing its victim down':to tbV dust of anguish. 'I h-»- husband comes borne worn our with the pressure of business aud irritab'e wth the world in but when be enters the cosy sittinjr-room'-and sees the blaze of the bright fire and meets his wife'a smiling face, he Huccumbs in a moment to tht* soothing influence, wh-ich act as a balm -t Gilead to his wounded spirit. We are all weary with comb iting with the realities of life. The rough schoolboy flies in a rage from the taunts, of his companions to find .^olace in his mother's smile ; the little ono, full o grief with its owi* large trouble, finas a heavrn of rest-writs mother's breast ; aud .so .one might go on with instances oftheinffuence a sweet-mmded woman has iu the social *Hfe with which she is -connected. Beauty is an insignificant power when compared with hers. — Truth.
