There wast a good attendance of spectators but the weathehwas cold and inclement. Ths_visitors with six wickets down, for 5_2& continued their firstinnings. which closed for 309. IThe principal scorers - were '-Midwinter, c, 67 ; Boyle, b, 48. Being 87 behiud their opponents the Australians again went to the wickets, but only scored 144, Five wickets fell to Barnes for a total of 7 runs. The highest scorers were' Murdoch, b, 37 ; Bonnor, c, 42 ; and Midwinter, c, 27. The fielding of the home.team was rather weak. The home team ' then commenced their second innings, but *>nly scored 25 runs when play, ceased. Blackman mad_. 1% »ot out.
