Robson's Diorama
. «. Robson's Gigantic Transparent Diorama of the Egyptian War will be exhibited in the Town Hall on Thursday and Friday evening next when a number of costly aad useful presents will be made to tho audience. We extract the following from a contemporary : — There was a large and delighted audience present at the Theatre Royal to witness Robson's Diorama of the Egyptian War. Highly artistic pictures were presented to view, and each picture had a brief description given to it, which enabled all present to thoroughly grasp the situation and scene depicted to view. These pictures were succeeded by some still finer artistio efforts in the shape of views of English, Scottish, Irish and colonial scenery, some of the pictures being really gems. Then there were a few comicalities and a display of statuary ; the latter may be described as the best artistic work of the collection. Many of the pictures, on being presented to the audience, were vociferously applauded. Indeed the entertainment all though is of a very high class, and thoroughly deserves the encomium bestowed upon it which it has hitherto met with wherever exhibited. At the close a number of useful and valuable gifts were distributed in a manner which left no doubt on the minds of the audience as to the perfect fairness of the distribution.
