The Feilding Star. THURSDAY. JULY 8, 1884. Mr Macarthur
The speech delivered by this gentleman on Tuesday night to thp electors of Feilding proves satisfactorily that although he has never represented a constituency in Parliament, yet he is eminently fitted for the position. , B[e has shown himself thoroughly acquainted, not only with the political history of the Colony, but with the law? Under which we are governed-
The Advocate says that "even his worst enemies will admit that Mr Macabthub, in intellectual capacity, is superior to the average run of M H.R.s, and in acquaintance with the wants of Manawatu, he is facile prinpeps." A large majority of the electors will endorse this opinion on the polling day. The unanimity of the feeling in Feilding, as exhibited on Tuesday night goes far to prove that, in this part of the elactorate, he will almost receive a block vote.
