beuteb's telegrams. London, July 1. The first meeting of the Conference on Egyptian affairs was held to-day. The proceedings were chiefly of a formal nature. The proposals of the British Government embody the reduction of unified preference loans against the English guarantee of £8,000,000. The trial of the action instituted by the Attorney Gene/al against Mr Bradlaugh terminated to-day, when the court found that the defendant had illegally sat and voted in the House of Commons in February last. In the House of Commons to-day the motion of Sir Stafford Northcote, declaring that the Anglo-French agreement regarding Egypt, will neither lead to the peace of that country nor justify an English loan to Egypt, came up for discussion.^ After some debate the House by a majority of 42, refused to discuss the motion, because it was deemed untimely. The motion, therefore, has been postponed indefinitely. It has been ascertained that the outbreak of cholera in Toulon originated on board of a troopship which had recently arrired from Tonquin. The Australian cricketers are endeavouring to arrange a series of matches in America. The German Reichstag has passed a Bill making accident insurance compulsory. R<>me, July 1. A death from cholera has occurred here, and fear is entertained that the disease is spreading. Caibo, July 2. Reports are curreot here to-day that Nubar Pasha, the President of the Council of Ministers, has tendered bis resig-' nation to the Khedire, and that Reaz Pasha, who was Minister of the Interior in the Cherof, administration has been summoned to form a new Ministry. London, July 2. The Conservative members of the House of Lords are understood to be unanimous as to the necessity of rejecting the Bill for the reform of the Franchise, which has been sent up from the House of Commons.
