Accident at the Gorge Ferry
♦ (PKB UNITED PBBBS ASSOCIATION.) Woodville, This Day. The punt at the Upper Ferry was washed away yesterday while crossing a flock of sheep, owing to the wire-rope breaking through the flooded state of the Manawatu River. The men on board were got off safely by a canoe aud by swimming. The sheep went ashore a mile south of the ferry. Traffic is consequently suspended between Woodville and Masterton, except that coach passengers are cro ised in a boat.
