The Finger Mails
Most persons tre familiar witb those troublesome bits ol skin which loosen at the root of tbe finger vails ; it is caused by tieir adhering to tbe nail, which growing outward, drags the skin along wirh it, stretching it until one end gives way. To prevent this, . the »kin should be loosened from the nails once a week, not with a knife or scissors, but w >th, something blunt. - such as the end of an ivory pa|>er cutter. 'I his is best done after soaking the fingers in warm water, then pushing the skin back gently and slowly 'llie white, specks on; the nail are made by scraping the nail with a knife at a point where it emerges? from the shin.
