Another Suicide at Auckland

He had locked himself in his bedroom, undressed, and shot himself. through the heart with a charge from a double-barrelled gun. A few minutes "> before the event, Mrs Griffiths heard blip say in his bedroom that men were after . him. He had been out on the previous-. . night, but returned to his lodgings last- ' night. There is no clue to the cause for ' ' the deed, except that he had been drink- ' _1 . v . l '*" ing. He rs a single man,, and -hail no relations here. - '■ Latbb. . _ At the inquest on William Pioket, sharebroker, who committed suicide last. . night, a verdict that the act was committed while suffering from temporary insanity was returned. His books are found to be in a confused state, liabilities being over £700. A cheque had been dishonored for calls, and the Bank of Australasia, from a note found in his papers had asked him to pay his over* •■ draft. A number of shares held by him for client, the transfer of which are unregistered, and unaccounted for.
