Tenders for the Queensland loan, £2,670,000, bearing interest at 4 percent, minimum being fixed at 90 were opened to day. The tenders were found to amount toa total of £9,000,000. Tenders 99-8 will receive 40 per cent of allotment. Tenders above that price receive in full. Melboubne, May 31. The trial of the Equity Suit, George Meredith Pell, a fanner of Southland, v Joseph Clarke, has commenced here. The land of these and other parties was sold to Sir Julius Vogel's New Zealand Agricultural Company for £1,080,000. Pell now claims that the sum of £887,000 is still due *o him on claim account (sic). (pee united press association.) CHaisTCHUBCH, This Day.
