A Wairarapa Solon

We learn from the Post that Mr BrcHANAN, the representative -of South Wairarapa, intends to support the southern opposition to the completion of the North Island Trunk Railway. His principal reason appears to be that such

a work would neither benefit him nor his constituents in a direct manner. The Post is astonished at the line taken up by Mr Buchanan, and says tliat the Wairarapa settlers must indirectly, in common with the rest of the North Island, benefit largely by the completion of the trunk line from Wellington to Auckland.
