(PBB UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) New Plymouth, This Day. Mr Mitchelson and surrey party from Auckland arrived at Waitara last night. Th<? party, after tearing Kihihiki made I for Ohura Kiver and Long Parutu. Bush beinji dense, it was decided to make for Mokau Uirer, the more westerly route, and then mako tbo coauection with the ialand route from Stratford. It is easier. The weather has been fim», and | lir iiitchelson is favorably impressed with the country. There is a lanre area of agricultural land, and coal is to be seen cropping out ail along the proposed line. The distant is estimated to be about forty miles shorter than the Taupo route. The total from Auckland to Wellington is sbout the same distance by both routes. (The Press Association ' agent &t T&ranaki appears to be very credulous.)
