In the political hubbub which has been excited by the addresses of Ministers and members, " our " member, the Hon. Waltfb Johnston, has dropped out of sight altogether. This is not as it should be. It was never intended, nor is it de-. sirable, t ; at this worthy gentleman should sink into political oblivion so soon. We are aware that his retiring disposition, combined with a general disinclination to do anything at all, would lead him to prefer such, a fate, but we |yen. ure to belie* c that,, he: owes certain duties to his constituents, not the least of which is thathe should give some account of his stewardship for the pnst sessions. -.-Now ttiat the trammels 'of office no longer bind
him to the official desk, and there is really nothing else in the world to do but amuse himself, we do think he might remember " his suffering people," and pay them a visit, if only a fleeting cue. We will make him welcome, and guarantee him a good reception. No rude and vexatious questions will be put, or, if they are embarrassing, he need not answer them. The only tiling we will not guarantee is a vote of confidence. We have doubts on that point— and so has the Hon. Waltee J o i r nston .
