I (PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCrATT-'N.) Oraki, This Day. The Oraki powder-mill exploded again last evening at 5 p.m., the mill keeper getting raiber severely burned. The mill has only open working three weeks since effecting the repairs caused by the last accident. A Black Rogue <• A coloured man natred Richards, who formerly resided in Olneyville, • R.1., but has since removed to another Eart of that state, has often made his carers roar with laughter by the story of how he acted the cannibal for two years in a well-known American show which travelled in England. Richard was kept shut up in a cage as a danirerious wild animal, and was expected to clare fiercely at the spectators, and every now and then make a grab at anyone who too closely approached his cage. He was taught a sort of gibberish which he repeated occasionally to the horror and terror of lookers-on, who probably imagined that he was exnressing a p< rference in his own native tongue tor human tender loin or infantile veal. The keeper would describe to the spectators what a terribly ferocious creature the cannibal was, and how long it had taken to subdue him, at the same time exhibiting a formidable weapon of iron, wbich he said had been used to bring the cannibal to terms. Richards was naturally as harmless as a child, and about as tar from the general idea of a cannibal as could well be imagined. He received £5 a week and boardnot human fiesh, but ordinary diet — for his masquerade, and while m England married a white wifi*.
