Ground not wanted to carry winter vegetables should be sown down in oats for green feed, which can be cut for use or dug into the ground in timeto plant the early spring crops. Plant cabbage and cauliflower, earth up those that are advancing; make occasional sowings of mustard and cres* and radishes for salads ; keep the soil about them pretty moist ; earth up ieeks and celery, tying up the latter and giving plenty of water before earthing thein up. Late crops of potatoes lift and store for winter use. Carrots and turnips : Sow the mam crops for winter. Mako a large sowing of spiuage — the prickly is the best for winter use. Clear away all rubbish ; keep down weeds.
