keuteb's telk^eams. Received April .5. 12 30 a.m. London, April 13 Latest dispatches to hand from Cuba report that a swere engagement has taken place between the rebels and the royal troops. The latter were victorious, and killed 26 of the insurgents. The Duke Buccleuch is seriously ill, and no hope is entertained of his recovery. Per Merchant Shipping and Underwrites Association, London April 12. — Arrived, the ship Ganymede from Timaru. Hong Kong, April 13. Telegrams have been received from Tonquin announcing that the French expedition had arrived at Hiinir Hooand at once opened the bombardment against it. The Cuinese garrison offered but slight resistance and speedily evacuated the town. Adelaide, April 15. Arrived, last evening, the Orient steamship Liguria, from Plymouth. Melboubne, April 15. The passengers by the Rome have been ordered mlo quarantine for a fortnight, and will be vaccinated to-morrow. The report that a further case of small-pox had appeared among the passengers in quarantine at Adelaide is untrue.
