Manchester Road Board

« The usual monthly meeting was held at the Board's offices* to-day. PresentMessrs Macarthur Bailey, R. Linton and Cotter. The minutes of the previous meeting, and of a special meeting were read and confirmed. The Chairman said the next meeting would be held en the last Saturday in April, in order that the present members may complete all business before the elections, which will be necessary, owing to the retirement of certain of the present members. A letter was read from Mactear, asking for permission to cut totara timber on Ashurst road. — Permission refused. O'Hara and Gordon applied by lette for an extension of time to eomulete the i contract on the Mansraone road. Warden Bailey considered that this firm should not have taken more contracts than they were able to fulfil. Bit under the circumstances he was in favor of granting the request. (Left sitting.)
