CHBisTCHrscH, April I. Produce.— Owing to the rise in Railway tariff, transactions in wheat still continue limited, both buyers arid sellers holding on in hopes of old rates being reinstated. Prices are, therefore, only nominal. Sales have been made at 3s 6d f.o.b. for sound qualitea of Tuscan and Pearl; other sorts 3s 4d f.o.b. at Lyttelton. Flour remainsjat £'9 10s per ton; oatmeal £12 per ton. Oats, at 2s 2d for milling, hnd 2s for feed samples. For barley, 3s 6d to 4s. Cheese is quoted at 3|d to 5d per lb; batter («alt) not much changing hands, quoted at 9d to lOd. Hams and bacon, s^d per Ib. Rye-grans seed, 3s to 3s 6d per bushel ; cocksfoots, 3 6-Nd to 3 7 8d per lb. Lire Stock.— Beef is quoted at 18s to 30s per lOOlbs ; mutton, 2£ \lo 2|d per lb. Pigs in limited number, but demand brisk at from ] 2a 6d to 25s for medium size. Horse Market.— Medium draught, £17, to £26 ; good draught £20 1* £31 ; 3-year old unbroken cart colts, £10 to £18; 2 jear olds. £6 to £12; hacks, from *£4 to £8; well-bred ditto. £10 to £18^ Good draughts are scarce and readily saleable.
