Telegrams from Berber state tha t the disaffection amo- g the Arabs between that town and Shendy is rapidly increasing, and that the tribes to the southward of Berber are now in open revolt. Fears >re entertained that the movement may continue, and that the safety of the garrison and inhabitants of Khartoum are jeopardised. Gordon Pasha relieved the garrison at Sncflyeh with 1,000 men and thre • steamers. There is an engagement impending at Khartoum. Received March 27. 0 45 a.m. Caibo, March 25. Telegrams from Sounkim state that the British troops have advanced against Osman Digneh's camp. It is, however, rumored that the rebel sheikh fled with his followers to the mountains where pursuit will be a of matter very great diffi culty.
