Wanganui long ago discarded him in favor of Mr Ballance ; Manawatu would not hear of him as a candidate ; Rangitikei, in which Sir William Fox has his home, discarded him at the last election and returned Mr John Stevens in his place. Knowing that Mr John Stevens would certainly be returned again at the next election, the friends of Sir William have for some time past given it out that, the doughty knight was about at last to wind up the West Coast < ommission and go home to Fngland on a 12 month's trip. It appears, however, tnat Mr Isnac Wilson, amiable legislative nonentity, is t<> retire in favor of Sir William, aud the latter is to be pitchforked into Parliamem for Kaiapoi.
