[per united press association.] Chiustchurch, March 14. A woman named Royal, the wife of a carpenter living at Sydenham, is supposed to have drowned two of her children in the Heathcote this evening. It is bplieved that Ler mind has been slightly affecfed since her confinement, nine mouths ago. This Day. Mrs Hoyal was charged this morning at the Police Court with wilful murder but she is still in the Hospital. Her mental condition is doubtful. The rescued child saj's his mother jumped into the water, but does not say how he and the other children got into the river. Mrs Koyal slept well, and on awaking asked frequently for her busband aud children.
