ANOTHER BATTLE FOUGHT. DEFEAT OF THE, ENEMY. ' b-utekV tklegbam's London, March 13. Telegrams are to hand from Cairo announcing that intelligence has reached' there that a battle between the British troops and the rebels under Osrnan Digneh commenced at daybreak to-day. The eagagement was s very brief one, the enemy being speedily routed. No further particulars had, up to : ~the'*time v iJP the despatch of the intelligence, reached „ Souakim. ■ ' • ' - lO March 13, noon. Further intelligence to hand" frbuf^ Souakim states that the- battle with the rebels under Osman Digneh, which commenced this morning, lasted only half-an-J hour, daring which time the fighting was seven*. The rebels were defeated on all, . sides. The British loss is stated to be trifling. .-- Afternoon. A despatch to hand from General ..Graham states that Osman's camp had been taken after heavy fighting on.both sides. The engagement was a very brief one. The loss on the British side is given as seventy killed and a hundred wounded. The enemy's loss is not known.- . . ".
