This was another cup race of the previous day and a splendid one all through. The horses went off at a pretty good pace to a fair start, of which The Poet had the best. A grand finish resulted in favor of Maori, who had too much left in him. with The Poet half a length away second, and Libeller third ; Refrigerator fourth. Time, 3m. 44 2-ss. Dividend, inside, £20 12s ; outside, £17 18s. Nursery Ha dicap, of 50 soys; for two-year-olds. — Parvenu (Scott) 1, Miss Puritan (Wattie) 2, Titokowaru (Hollywood) 3. There was a good race between the first two. Time, lm. 245.
