A Strange Bankruptcy Case

THE WAY THE MONEY GOES ! (PEBTNITKD PHESS ASSOCIATION.) Timahtt, This .Day. In the District Court to-day, sitting ns a Court of Bankruptcy, two applications apparently new to the Courts were made. In each case a trustee in bankruptcy had with the consent and under the direction of certain of the creditors, incurred expenses in endeavouring to realise the estate, which resulted in loss. In one case the assets had realised about £500. and the whole of this, with about £250 besides, had gone in legal and other expenses — not one penny in dividend. Petitions were now presented by the trustees for orders calling upon the credi tors consenting to the incurring of the expenses for contributions to wipe out the deficits. Judge V\ ard ruled that the Bankruptcy Court had not jurisdiction to grant such petitions.
