Concert at Sandon

The concert at Sandon last night was a great success. The schoolroom was crowned with a most appreciative audience, among whom we noticed a number of Feilding residents. The instrumental part, by Mesdames Taylor and Frood and the Misses Grace, was very good. Mr Burchaiu was splendid in his "Little Yacob • trouss," and receired a welldeserved encore. The gem of the evening was the solo " Should he Upbraid," by Mrs Hrgg. "Ehrin on the Rhine" was pleasingly rendered by MrR Hill. Ihe duet " Excelsior " by Mr and Mrs Scott was sung in good taste and with feeling. Mr McLeod sang "True until Death " very fairly. This gentleman was "on the bill " for another «ong but did not appear. The McKenzie family did good service, and th.eir performance in the instrumental piece showed that tliis talented family continues to improve. Mr and Mrs Abrahams' duett " Oh that we two were Maying" was given in excellent style and reoeived a well-de-served encore. Mr > icholas sang "I he wheel of life " splendidly, and was in bptter voice tban we have heard for some time. The quartette " Our Native '-Land*' 1 by Mrs Scott, Mrs Abraham, Mr Nicholas, and i\lr Scott, was a ner. feet. gem. The National Anthen concluded one of the best concerts the good people of Sandon have yet had' the pleasure Of hearing. The Feildjng visitors had a beautiful ride holne in the moonl'ght, and w»re hiahly delighted with their visit, and alsodeep'y grateful to M l 7 and Mrs Taylor for the hospitality they were good enough to extend to them after the performaiLce.
