The. Manchester Horticnltoral Society

A meeting of the committee was held at Mr Bray's office on Saturday evening last tomake arrangements for the autumn show. Present —Messrs K. Goodbehere (secretary), Stevens, Nicholas, Ranger, Lucas, Reading,' and Towler. Mr Stevens presided. The minutes of the pnvioas meeting were read and confirmed. y -yy The Secretary gave ;a rough siaijmKmt of the financial position of the Society, which showed that with the balance in band from last year, and the msipts over the expenditure from the last show, together with the assets, there was a balance to the credit of the Society of upwards of £15. lt was resolved, That the Secretary and Mr Stevens, be empowsted.to make arrangements for providing the necessary stands, tins, Ac, for exbibitiag cut flowers. ■ '■* Vei: ,y.y; The question of judges fbrtheavtnam show was then discussed. ■?#■* y ■ IMr Stevens proposed that fbarjudgso be secured if possible->twoif6r, 'Bo^rtrs and pot plants, and ' two for ifi^t and vegetables.- This, was Seconded hj Mr Nicholas, and carried. It was proposed by Mr Laens, and seconded by Mr Towler, Tliat iMessra Armstrong and A. Laird be requested to act as two of the judges.— Carried. Mr Towler proposed and Mr Ranger seconded.
