The Sable Orphans

The Christy minstrel entertainment ciTtnby the Wanganui Sable Orphans in the Tow* Hall here last night was well attended, and we must say that the Mod house the? had was richly deserred. 1* were also the frequent storms of hearty applause with which the perfermers (ten in number) were greeted. The first two partf of the programme comprised 14 events, each of one which gave great satisfaction *nd pleasure, and it is just to say that some of the songs were really splendidly- rendered. Pressure on our space precludes our being able to tire a detailed description, and where all did their part seexcellently this is not needed. The jokes and pnns between "Mr Jehasoh"and his** Bone»" and"Barobo," were rerr good and highily amusing. We any be foreiren for mentioning the names of Mr King and his little son, Master Francis A. King, who is only 10 years of age. by the former of whom the musical arrangement was so ably conducted, and the latter having so highly pleated the audience by his performances upon the Tiolin. The entertainment concluded by a most laughable negro farce in which 10 different ctfaracters did theirwarts exceedingly well. It w probably the best minstrel "show" that bak yet appeared on the Town Hall stage, and, as will be seen by advertisement, the company hare rcsolred to give another entertainment this evening, we adriae all lovers ot really genuine «musement to make up their minds to •ttenfl. A. well-knewn local popular ii^pianoer will al#o assist.
