Amusements. FEILDING ANNIVERSARY. !^HE Tenth Anniversary of Feilding will be celebrated on Provincial Anniversary Day, TUESDAY, 22nd January, 1884. The Programme arranged by the Committee is as follows : — Procession of Friendly Societies in Regalia, .at 10 a.m., from the Town Hall to the Sports Ground, headed by the Feilding Brass Band. The following Sports, &c, will be held, each event to be Sweeptakes; Ist prize two-thirds, 2nd one-third. 1. Boys' Race (under 14), 100 yards; entrance 6d. 2. Girls' Eace'(under 14), " 100 yards ; entrance 6d. 3. Tug of War, Married v Sinele; 10 a side ; winners to divide sweep ; entrance Is. 4. Friendly Societies' Race (in regalia), Married, 200 yards; entrance Is. 5. Ladies' Race, Married, 100 yards; entrance Is. 6. Manchester Volunteers' Walking Match, in uniform, arms and accoutrements, 1| miles ; entrance 2s 6d. 7. Friendly Societies' liace (in regalia) Single, 2'»o yards ; entrance Is. 8. Town Band Race, three notes to be blown on instruments at indicated intervals, 200 yards ; entrance Is. 9. Ladies' Race, Single, 100 yards; entrance Is. 10. Veterans' Race (over.4o), 100 yards; entrance Is. 11. Boot Race, boots to be taken off at a point in the first round, and put on in the second, half amile; entrance Is. 12. Kangaroo Hurdle Race (all fours). over 5 hurdles 2ft 6in high, 150 yards ; entrance Is. 13. Blindfold Backwards Race, l< 0 yards ; entrance Is. 14. Baby Show, under 9 months ; four prizes — largest, smallest, prettiest, best dressed ; stakes divided, and 5s added to each prize ; entrance Is. Dancing at intervals. Town Band in attendance. Admission, including Lawn, Is; Children under 12 free. Promenade Concert and Ball in Town Hall at 9 p.m. Admission, 2s. Refreshments on the Sports Ground and in the Hall. No Intoxicating Liquors. W. To start at 2 p.m. 4. Feilding Handicap, 100 soys ; 2nd horse 10 soys (from the racing fund) ; distance, 2 miles. Nomination, £1.; acceptance, £2. To start at 2.45 pm. 5. Hack Race, 7 soys ; once round the course , 9st up. Same conditions as No 2. Entrance, 10s. To start at 3.30 p.m. 6. Winter Oats Handicap, 30 soys ; distance, 1£ miles. Nomination, £1 ; acceptance, £1. To start at 4.15 p.m. 7. Consolation Handicap, 15 soys. Distance, 1 mile. Entrance, £1. To start at 6 p.m. Nominations for Hurdle, Feilding, and Winter Oats Handicaps will close with the Secretary, Feilding, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March Bth. Entries for the Maiden Plate and acceptances for the Handicaps will close at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th. Handicaps will be published on or before March 15th. RULES. All entries must specify name, age, performances, name of owner, and colors of the rider. Entries will be received only upon this condition — that the decision of the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, shall in all cases be final. All races will be run under the W.J.C. Rules. W.
