A New Oat

A firm of London seed merchants advertise in the Home papers v a. new ' variety* of v oat, the i straw, of which averages six feet in height, is very Strong, and carries the heavy heads iwithout yielding/ The yield troqa this grain is said to be riomethinn; enormous, the thirty, sixty, and a hundred fold of the, Gospel I 'arable sinks into insignificance in comparison. Three thousand grains from one 'seed is a common . result, and many single beads contain as many as three hundred grains. We tor^rot to state before that the seed' is only £10 per bushel. A pound, however, only costs eight shillings..
