WEATHER REPORT.
Meteorological Report for the week ended ■ Friday, January 4, 1884. The following table, showj the readings of «he barometer and rain guage at 9.30 a.m. on the dates mentioned, and the maximum and minimum temperature during the preceding 24 hours :— -
V .B.— Rain wa* registered on 27 days in the month of December just past, and the total. rninfall was 6-80 inches The rainfall for December 1882 wan 1.65 inches, and rain was registered on 7 days only during that month. The mean maximum temperature in shade for December, 1882, was BO*l2deg whereas in December last it wai 71 45deg only. - The mean minimum temperatures for the name month in 1882 and 1883 were 49'12deg and 46'80deg respectively. The greatest cold registered on December 1882 was 39de* on 'he 6th and 11 tb, and in last month 33deg on the 9th. The greatest heat in shade registered in December, 1882, was 92deg om the 26th, and in 16 other days of the same month the maximum temperature raaged from fcOdeg to 90deg. In December, 1882, the maximum temperature was 78deg on the 15th, 18th, 20th, and 29th, and on 16 other days in the same month only it reached orer 70deg, ranging from 70deg,to 77deg. ; Saml.
