The Charles Edward arrived from Wellington at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, and reports that during a thick north-easter she struck the reef off Alligator Heads. She- immediate!/ rebounded and came on to Nelson. -'r~ iater. The official, enquiry into the striking of the Charles Kdward will be held t»-day (Saturday.) The force of the concussioi was very great. Had the tide been higher she would have ron over the reef and probably would bave ripped Her bottom out. The damage actually" done will bn replaced in three -aya. . ', ,; -R
