Pbogeasime. 1. Handicap Hurdle Kace of 40 soys. — Two miles and a distance, over eight flights of hur.des, 3ft. 9in. high. Nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 2 soys. To start at 11.30 a.m. 2. Hack Hurdles Race of 10 soys. — Post entrance, 1 soy. One mile and a distance, over four hurdles. Open to all horses that have never won public money, or been nominated, for an advertised race six months previous to date of meeting; hack races excepted. Weights to be not under 9 sf.ine. Tn start at 12.15 p.m. 3. JVlaidon Plate ot 25 soys. — Distance, on> nii!e:uid a half. Entrance 2 sov9. Weight for age. Open to all horses that have never won public money prior to date of entry. An? horse entered for the Maiden Plate winning an advertised race between the time of entry and date of race to carry a penalty of olbs. To start at 1 p.m. 4. Foxton Racing Club Handicap of 100 soys., second horse to save his stakes. — Distance, one mile and three-quar-ters. Nomination, 2 soys; acceptance 4 soys. To start at 2 p.m. 5. Pony Race of 5 soys. — Distance 1 mile. Entrance, 7s 6d. Catch weights. To start at 2.30 p.m. 6. The Tramway Stakes of 25 soys.— Distance, a mile and a half. Entrauce 2 soys. Weight for age. Winner of the F.R C. Handicap to carry a penalty of 71bs. To start at 3 p.m. 7. District Handicap of 15 soys.— Nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 1 soy. Distance, one mile and a quarter. For all horses owned in tho Counties of Oroua and Vianawatu for six months prior to date of entry by bona fide residents of said Counties. To start at. 3 -30 p.m. 8. Hack Rn< c of £7 10s.— Entrance, 10s; distance, 1 mile. Catch weights. Qualification same as in Hack Hurdle Race. To start at 4.15 p.m. 9. Forced Handicap of 15 soys. — Once round the course ; entrance, winning horses, 1 soy ; losing horses, 10s. To start at 4.15 o'clock. Nominations for ihe Hurdle, Foxton Racing Club, and District Hand caps will be received, addressed to the Secretary, Manawatu Hotel, Foxton, up till Thursday, December 20, at 9 p.m. Weights to be declared on Friday, the 4th January, 1884 ; general entries . and acceptances close oa Thursday, 17 th January, 1884. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Secretary, Foxton, entrance money enclosed, with the nam' 1 , age at time of entry, pedigree, and in cases of Handicaps, performances of ihe horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. 3. When two or more horses star , the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. 4 Any jockey ridii/jr except in the colon's pntered will be fined 3 soys. 5. All races to be run under the *\ anganui J.C. Kules. 6. Ht-rses walking over will only ■ receive half the stakes. 7. Qualification fee for non-member, ! 1 soy. 8 No entry or nomination will brreceived after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the postmark of date of entry, and telegrams of surne date, will bft received. 9. Ail persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give »<>fice >o the effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scale*, one half hour betore starting.
