Papapa is a dark chestnut, standing 15 hands 3 inches high, with ereatlength, substance, and quality, and was one of the fastest horses that ever raced in New Zealand. At the Christchurch meeting in 1873 he ran second tc the celebrated Lurline in the Canterbury Cup, 2\ miles, in 4m. Bs., carrying 7st. 21bs., as a three-year-old. Lurline, 4yrs., Bst. Vlbs.; Tambourini, 9st. 6lbs. ; Malvina, Bst. 9lbs. ; and Templelon, 7st. 21bs., also ran. Papapa won the Christchurch Perby in 2m. 44^8. beating Castaway (own brother to Lurline), Templeton, and Traitor. At Auckland won the Auckland Turf Club Cup, with 7st, 81 bs., 2 miles, in 3m. 455. Yatterina, 7st. 121b5., second. Parawanui, Hatred, and Black Eagle also ran. Papapa also walked over for tke Railway Stakes, and won the Thameß Plate, 7st. slbs., 2 miles, in 3m. 555., beating Hatred, 9st. 71bs. Terms. — Single mare, £5 55. ; two or more, as per agreement.
