TENNYSON KAISED TO THE PEEEAGE. Received December 6, 1 a.m. London, December 5. An exhibition, sanctioned by the Boyal Geographical Society, is now being organised for the purpose of exploring New Guimea. and ii expected to start at an early date. Telegrams to hand from Zanzibar report that the bombardment of the Mala, gasy coast towns has again been resumed by Admiral Galliber, and that the French war vessels hare shelled ser eral places on the north and south coast of Madagaacar. Tbe report current yesterday that a peerage would shortly be offered to Tennyson is now confirmed. Capetown, December 4. News is to hand from Basutoland to to the effect that the native tribes hare agreed to accept the Imperial Rule, and that the chiefs have tendered their submission to the British authorities. Per Merchant Shippiag and Underwriter's Association, London, December 4, arrived — yesterday, steamship Fenstan--1 ton, from Lyttelton, October 10, with a cargo of 8000 frozen sheep.
