(PBB UNITED PBSSa ASSOCIATION ) Dpkedik, This Day. The following letter has been received by the German Consul here from the Consul in Sydney : — ''Sydney, November 7, 1883. Sir,— The increasing importance of export ef fresh meat from Australia to England having been noticed in the agricultural japer of Berlin, His Highness Prince Bismarck is desirous of gaining some information about thedevelopement of this industry up to now. In order to make the information which I bare been called upon to furaish as complete as possible, I have the honor to request you kindly to favor me with a detailed report on the subject. In particular I beg you to state minutely the price of meat in New Zealand, the cost of transporting it to England and eventually Germany, and the cost of the procedure for preserving it."
